I came across this recipe in one of the magazines/catalogs that King Arthur Flour sends me since I’ve bought things from them. It was marked as their 2015 Recipe of the Year which kind of goaded me into attempting it, despite my lack of success in making cookies. Plus I was interested to see how the oatmeal would work in the cookie because, generally speaking, I’m not a fan of oatmeal cookies. You can read the recipe here.
I was very happy with how these turned out even if a few of them started to get a little more spread out than I would have liked. I felt that the oatmeal worked very well as you could hardly tell it was there. In fact, I had several people ask me what was in the cookies as they could tell something was there but not that it was oatmeal. Plus there were a lot of chocolate chips which I think helped counter the oatmeal.
I got about three dozen cookies from the batch which was a decent amount. They haven’t disappeared as fast as the last batch of cookies I made but they aren’t sitting there waiting to be thrown away at some point because no one wants to eat them.
I would recommend making this cookie.
